The Sudan Project

The Sudan Project focuses on training men to train men to preach the gospel to lost souls.

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” (the Apostle Paul to Timothy the Evangelist; 2 Timothy 2:2)

About The Sudan Project

Many have heard the tragic story of “The Lost Boys of Sudan.” Yet a far greater unreported tragedy is the story of the lost souls of Sudan, and this is what The Sudan Project is all about.

The primary goal of The Sudan Project is to train South Sudanese brethren in the Word so as to lead existing congregations of the Lord’s church, evangelize among the Sudanese refugees and to prepare them to establish new congregations when peace returns to South Sudan and they return home. We believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God and obedience to it to be the key to life for everyone, both now and in eternity.

Our method is to prepare native South Sudanese Christians to preach and take the gospel to their own villages and to thus create strong, self-supporting congregations–a plan that is seeing great success!

The Sudan Project has an urgent need for donations to help with emergency supplies, food, and Christian encouragement!

This work is sponsored by the Foote Street Chuch of Christ in Corinth, Mississippi. The director of the work is Barry Smith from the Madison (AL) Church of Christ, who also directs Uganda Christian Bible College for Foote Street, and World Mission Africa for the Madison church.

Currently the work cannot be carried out in the country of South Sudan on the campus of South Sudan Bible School due to violence and civil war, so most of the training is being done on the campus of Uganda Christian Bible College, a sister school a few hours from South Sudan, and within the refugee camps in Uganda and Kenya.

By choosing to donate, you directly finance the necessities of reaching out to those who need nourishment in this life and the next.
