2024 March – Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Just Be Aware!

Our amazing Creator of humans made them with the intelligence to create intelligence in other humans and even non-humans.

As we navigate the digital age, it’s essential to be mindful of both the positive aspects and the potential pitfalls. Striking a balance between the benefits and the challenges is crucial for leveraging technology’s greatness while qualifying its dangers. This requires responsible use, critical thinking, and continuous efforts to address and solve the emerging issues.

If you know me, you know that I am a senior citizen with a techie personality. And being a Baby Boomer has evidently eclipsed my need for being competitive or vindictive as I am beginning to realize that there are far more important things in life than being more, better, prettier, thinner, smarter, richer, more, more, more, and more of everything.

But last week my techie personality was challenged with unkind thoughts and feelings because someone hacked into one of my social media platforms and infringed on my personal space.  Once more, I was reminded that our society is in a mess right now. (My personal opinion).

Over the past few years, I have decided that it is wise to stay alert, and aware of what is happening in our world, even though it may not affect me directly. Because sometimes it really does affect me directly! I know I am only a tiny drop of water in the ocean to compare with all the people in our world today who are being hacked, scammed, tricked, and hurt, even killed, by ungodly people.

This is not a full-blown sermon about how to protect ourselves in an evil world. I’m not that smart! But it is definitely a kind and gentle reminder that it is wise to remain aware of special requests and questionable comments as much as we possibly can.

    • Be familiar with your devices. Never open texts, links, or email addresses from names you don’t know. Delete them, like spam.
    • Never accept friend requests from people you don’t know. Ignore and delete them.
    • Set your phone to go to voice mail for unknown numbers calling. If it is something legitimate, they will leave a call-back number.
    • You never see your real scammer. They use stolen profile pictures from innocent people. They are hard to track down because they change their email and profiles often.
    • Don’t worry. I’m thankful to our God, whose Spirit lives within me, Who knows this kind of thing is going on and He’s got it all in His Hands!

Blessings,

Sandra
